About the MHUR Tuning Optimizer

A fan-made planning tool for My Hero Ultra Rumble — work out which costume actually fits the Tuning effects you want, build and share loadouts, and see the real combined numbers before you spend anything in-game.

Add the site to your phone like an app

There's nothing to download. Your phone can pin the site to the home screen, where it opens full-screen with its own icon — no address bar, no browser tabs.

iPhone (Safari)

  1. Open Safari and go to the website.
  2. Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow pointing up) at the bottom.
  3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
  4. Rename the shortcut if you want, then tap Add.

Android (Google Chrome)

  1. Open Google Chrome and go to the website.
  2. Tap the three vertical dots in the top-right corner.
  3. Tap Add to Home Screen or Install app.
  4. Confirm by tapping Add or Install.

Tip: your builds and sign-in carry over — it's the same site, just without the browser chrome around it.

1 · What this is

The MHUR Tuning Optimizer helps you figure out which costume best fits the Tuning effects you actually want, instead of manually checking dozens of costumes one at a time. Pick a character, choose the effects you're after — Max HP+, Quirk Skill Attack Power+, a specific Special Tuning, whatever — and it ranks every costume by how well it can actually fit them, slot by slot, restrictions and all.

It's free, needs no account to use the optimizer, and runs entirely in your browser. An account is only needed to save builds across devices and to publish them to Community Builds.

2 · How to use the app

The whole thing in one line: pick your character, tick the effects you want, and the app tells you which costume fits them best — then turns that answer into a build you can save and share.

Step 1 · Tell it what you want

  1. Pick your character in the panel marked 1 · Character. Start typing a name — the list filters as you type and shows each character's portrait.
  2. Tick the Tuning effects you want in 3 · Desired Tuning Effects. Tick as many as you like. There is no wrong answer here: the more you ask for, the harder it is for any one costume to fit it all, and that difficulty is exactly what the ranking is measuring.
  3. Can't find an effect? Type part of its name in the search box, or tap next to it to jump to a whole family at once — Attack, Defense, Max, Reload, Speed+ or Jump. Tap the same one again to clear the filter. Filtering only changes what you're looking at; anything already ticked stays ticked.

Step 2 · Read the answer

  1. Costumes are ranked as you go — no search button to press. The one at the top fits the most of what you asked for.
  2. Open any costume to see the exact slot-by-slot placement behind its score, so you can check the reasoning rather than take the ranking on trust.

Step 3 · Narrow it down (optional)

Skip this the first time through — the defaults are the sensible ones.

  1. Special Tunings are a hard requirement, not a preference: pick one and only costumes that can actually hold it are listed at all. Tick ⚡ Fixer (Monoma) if you want the column-doubling counted in the scores.
  2. Effect priority changes what "best" means. Off, the app chases the biggest total buff. On, it protects your #1 effect first, then #2, and so on — see §5 for what that trades away.
  3. Costume filter (2 · Costumes) limits the ranking to costumes you actually own or care about.

Step 4 · Turn it into a build

  1. Press "Create a Build" on a costume. The Build Editor opens with the slots already filled in with the placement that earned that score — so you're editing a working build, not starting from an empty one.
  2. Change any slot from its dropdown. You can't build something illegal by accident: cards can't go in the wrong slot type, Hero/Villain slots only accept matching cards, a character can't equip their own tunings, and one physical card can't fill two slots.
  3. Press "✨ Fill Slots" for empty slots. It lists what still fits, strongest first; Add equips that effect in the best remaining slots for you.
  4. Press "View Tuning Totals" to see the real combined percentages — what you'd actually feel in a match, not the numbers printed on the individual cards.

Step 5 · Keep it or share it

  1. Save puts it in My Builds. Signed in, it follows you to your other devices.
  2. Publish lists it on Community Builds for everyone. Copy Link shares one build directly, and Download Build Image gives you a card to post.

Heads up: a published build and its Community listing are the same build, not a copy. While it's published the loadout is locked — the name, description and tags stay editable. Unpublish it if you want to change the tunings.

4 · How the numbers work

Tuning level values come from community-sourced data on the effects shown in-game, cross-checked against a public good-to-knows writeup. Percentage-based stats (Attack Power+, Defense+, Reload+, Speed+) stack multiplicatively when you equip more than one — two +2.5% cards compound to +5.0625%, not a flat +5%. Flat stats (jump height, Max HP+/GP+) just add up directly. The "Tuning Totals" button on a build shows the actual combined total for everything currently equipped, Fixer stat doubling included.

5 · How costume scoring works

When you pick a set of desired effects, every costume is ranked by a buff value — a single number measuring how well that costume's slots can actually equip the effects you asked for, with every filled slot assumed to be at its max level. A higher buff value means the costume fits your selected effects better; it's a ranking aid, not an in-game stat. For the real combined percentages, use "Tuning Totals".

The value rewards fitting more of your chosen effects, and rewards stronger slots more heavily — Hero/Villain-restricted slots (which reach level 4 instead of 3) and, for Monoma, the Fixer column doubling both count for more. Special-tuning slots act as a hard filter: a costume must be able to hold them, but they don't add to the score. Whatever build the score describes is exactly the build the app recommends for that costume — the number and the placement can never disagree. Open any costume in the results to see its full scoring breakdown.

Effect priority changes what "best" means. With priority off, placement maximises the total buff value across all your effects. With priority on, the optimiser first gets the biggest possible result for your #1 effect — stacking as many #1 cards into the best slots as physically fit — then optimises #2, then #3, and so on. A high-priority effect can crowd lower ones out of a slot entirely, so turning priority on can lower the total buff value; when it does, the score simply reports the true value of the priority-respecting build it recommends.
